On August 1^st the following changes will take place to our benefit plan:

DIETICIAN

We will be adding dietician coverage at $500 maximum per calendar year.

VISION CARE

Prescription eyewear increased to a maximum of $500 in a 24 month period.

BASIC DENTAL SERVICES

Increased to 90%.

We are currently experiencing a record number of new applications to our union local. This circumstance, combined with the somewhat transient nature of our industry, has encouraged us to update our policy on permittees who have become “INACTIVE”.

To be “INACTIVE” a permittee has not contacted us updating their availability for a period of time that it has been determined by our crewing department that the permittee’s availability is out of date. In many cases our crewing department may have tried updating the permittee’s availability by contacting them without success.

If a person is “INACTIVE” for over five (5) years they will be removed from our data base and their files destroyed. Therefore, they would need to reapply in the future to become active. Previous to this change the allowable “INACTIVE” period was seven (7) years.

Big Picture: Back to Chesapeake Shores

At the most recent Executive & Council Meeting, it was decided to add eye exams to the Pacific Blue Cross extended health care benefits. This addition will begin December 1, 2016 and have a maximum of $100 every 2 calendar years.
