How Do I Apply For Membership?

Once you decide on a specific department you wish to apply, simply complete the application and mail it in. Before submitting your application, you must complete the following requirements:

• Resume;
  
• Film Industry Orientation course (includes WHMIS and Set Etiquette); OR
  
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and Set Etiquette;
  **Please provide a photocopy of certificate(s).
  
• $85 Administration fee*;
  
• Additional $25 for a 2nd department;
  
• Signed Bargaining Authorization;
  
• Minimum 30 verifiable days worked on professional made-for-television productions or feature films in the position you are applying for.

* The $85 fee is an administration fee to process your application. This is not a guarantee that you will be accepted as a member. Should your application not be complete, or should you not meet the required minimum standards, your application will be held until all minimum requirements are met and you will be able to request re-application in the same department at a later date without charges.

Completed applications are submitted to the Council at any Council meeting (usually once per month). Once you have been approved, your membership status will be that of PERMITTEE . As a permittee, we will send out your resume to our productions when they request someone in the position we recognize you under. You should promote yourself to our productions by dropping off your resume at the production offices.
